On February 9, 2021, the palace of Culture named after I. Zhansugurov hosted a press conference before the final gala concert of the III Republican online competition among singers "Zhyrlydy zhurek" of songs based on the poet's poems, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the poet Mukagali Makatayev. Members of the jury and participants laid flowers and paid tribute to the monument to M. Makatayev.
